It was magnificent in her dull, weary eyes. The inviting scent of lush, green grass greeted her paper-thins, expanding and recurring quickly as she gasped for breath after her long run.
Limbs shook with the effort of holding up her petite frame, bay canvas beaded with sweat. Her crown sunk low as her gaze scanned the valley. It was so different than the rocky mountain range that had held her captive for the past week or so.
Slowly, she made her way down the hillside, picking her footing carefully as her weariness ebbed away with the aspect of fresh water, a meal, and a nice place to rest. When her hooves met with even ground, she broke into a quick trot, petite flints striking the earth with a sort of rhythm.
Ink halted, tossing her crown so that pitch locks danced before her brown visionaries. This would do. Other equines or not, it was a magnificent find; but the winds gave way to the faint scent of others of her species. She paid it no mind.
Prancing forth, she let her nape fall into a perfect arch, parting lips to lap at the icy liquid. It hit her stomach like a pistol, but felt good after such a long, tireless journey over the Pass of the Blue Dusk Mountains.

curious orbs watched the fae from a ways off. Gray uads perked forward to catch the sound of her hoof beats and the stallion thought her magnificent. snorting with content that she was indeed alone, Wing stepped from the shadows and trotted lighty into her line of sight. He stopped, legs spread in a strong position and waited for her to notice him.

With a flick of her silken sash, Ink turned away from the pool of water, shaking her maw gently so that the droplets that had formed on her whiskers fell to the earth, absorbed by the soil.
As if on silent cue, her ears flew forward, gaze intently scanning the muscular frame of a bronc just a few yards away, standing directly in the sunlight that peeked out from behind the Blue Dusk Mountains.
Ink parted her lips as if she was about to speak, then withdrew sharply, restricting herself from starting a conversation with this bronc. For all she knew, he was a lone bachelor.
No, this stallion would make the first move. Her gaze was unwaivering as she looked him over. The silence seemed to echo oddly in her ears, the tension between them straining.

Wing shifted uncomfortably under the gaze and silence of the mare. She was testing him, he was sure. With a dignified snort, Wing collected himself and threw up his crown in a cofident way. Good day, m'lady. May I inquire as to why a magnifcent fae such as yourself is doing alone? His voice was a deep rumble from his chest, soft and yet strong. He toke a small step forward, not wishing to agravate her.

With a raised eyebrow, Ink followed his example and took a step forward, brow raised in question of his words.
"I believe I have every right to be alone, if you don't mind my saying, m'leige."
Her words were tainted, as if he had offended her and she had hidden the result. With good intentions, she took a step back and cocked a hind flint in anticipation of his answer.

Orbs lookedl over the land as Lacious
made his way in. The smell of a mare and the dark lord
eneted his nares. His biceps were shaken as his velets
parted calling out to the mare. His lobes laced back as he looked
at the stallion. A harsh snort was given before he dipped his
head to the mare" What might be you curse?" He inquired the
dove. His nape crained in" I am Curse Lacious" He spoke his name
with pride.

Ink looked up, eyeing the newcomer suspiciously with dusky brown optics, hard, cold, distant. Audits perked slightly, devouring his voice as it ebbed away from the otherwise silent valley.
The place seemed to be crawling with lone broncs, desperate to gather straggling femmes for their pathetic bands. Pitch cord slapped her flanks lightly as she flicked it, eyeing his frame with a raised eyebrow once more.
She waited for a moment, dragging out the silence a she said the name over and over in her mind, testing it, mulling over it, almost as if tasting it. Finally, she spoke in a somewhat cold voice.
"What grounds have you to ask me such a personal question, sir? I have only just lain my eyes on you for the first time just now, unless you remember me from somewhere?"
she said, the last sentence more a statement than a question.

Lacious looked at the mare. A hint of anger formed" I am only trying to be a gental man not rush into thing" He spoke so bold to the mare. He looked over to the stallion. His head was dipped but nothing more. His nares flared as he waited for the mares answer. Lacious was growing bored.
His banner raised and feel along his flank. A another snort was given from his kisser. Orbs looked at the land around them. His banener lifted and feel as his biceps were shaken.

Optics rolled in their sockets somewhat, though undetectable, as she replied.
"Very well. I was cursed In Red Ink at birth, but a gentlemen such as yourself may call me Ink."
A smirk crossed her delicate features fervently, nodding as if in silent answer as she questioned herself. She was not known for her patience, but more her sarcasm and way of shutting other equids out.
Her gaze fixed to his, unwaivering, unblinking. It would take a lot to break her of her feisty spirit.

He nodded his head" Well tis a pleasure to meet you Ink" A soft smiled formed along his lips. He looked at the silent stallion with a raised brow. A snort was given as he looked back at the mare" What brings you here?" HE inquired once more to the mare. His orbs looking into hers.

Wing gave an indigified snort but dipped he head repectively to the stag. I am sorry If I offended you in any way, m'lady. It seems you have company. If you ever wish to chat with me, you can find me at the Shore. He spoke gentley, bobbing his head lightly. With a snort in the stallion's direction he turn and pounded back towards his terra. He never was one to force a mare into a decision. If she wished to see him, she'd come.

Her gaze followed the bronc as he loped away for merely seconds, then her gaze darted back to Lacious, surveying his expression lightly. A trace of relief, did she see? No, must have been a trick of her imagination.
Nevertheless, she felt less smothered, and let out a large sigh of relief herself, before settling back into a comfortable stance to continue the conversation with the new bronc.
"What brings me here, you ask? Well, as I have no idea where I am, perhaps you could help me with that? T'was a lucky find for myself, as I have not had rest nor meal for quite a number of days,"
she sang, her accent heavy, though the speech ran coolly through her parted lips, like running water.

Hearing her speak answering his question with such grace" Ah well you may join me if you wish you are more than welcome upon my lands" He nodded his dome waiting for the mares answer before he would walk off and leave.

Dished audits flicked to devour his words. Soft and kind against her harsh tones. Her features saddened, her mocking appearance weakened. Lips twitched slightly, but remained pursed.
His words rolled through her mind for a moment. A home would be appreciated. And now, she realized, more than ever. But one thing eluded her.
I'm sorry, but I don't believe I got your allegiance. Brow arched seriously, optics questioning. Another step back. Cursed with a fear of closeness to another.
