The stallion reared, holding his position as his eyes darted around and scanned for other horses. Seeing none he dropped down again and began to graze. He was in no rush, just a leisurely outing. Presently he approached a twisted tree. Roughly he rammed his hips into it, then took a step forward. Wheeling around the stallion observed the trunk of the tree and nosed at the tufts of hair he had left there. Again he reared, beating small chunks from the wood, leaving small gouges on it. He dropped down and trotted to the next tree, repeating the process. After every tree in sight was marked he neighed, pawed the ground and began grazing in his newly claimed land.

The mare entered the land. And upon entering this land she spies a stallion of mere waiting. She calmly walked into this land without an invatation and was worried that the stallion would do. Her black eyes darted around and were gleaming with the light. She pawed the ground waiting for the stallion to see her standing there. The mare was not known for her patience, but her speed and beauty.

Serengeti threw his head up and snorted, glancing around. The stallion nickered, aware of someone on his land. As his gaze fell upon the mare he nickered again, this time louder. Stepping into a collected trot Serengeti approached the mare from an angle towards her face. At this position his eyes met hers, and as he stopped approximately 50 feet away the stallion dipped his head courteously and greeted her, "Good Afternoon to you ma'am. How may I help you?"

"Why would you want to know? I'm just passing through, unless you want me to stay..." said the Charcoal Summers. "It seems that only me and you are here? Am I correct?" The mare pawed the ground and tuned in circles. "So what do you want to know," she asked again. She pondered the thought of staying here with this stallion and waited for his reply.

Serengeti smiled, then followed her with his eyes as she turned and shifted about. "Do I not have a right to know? After all this is my land. And I would be delighted for your company in your staying." His neck arched slightly, the stallion proceeded "You are correct, we are the only ones here, for it has been only a short time since I claimed this land." He nickered and glanced around, as if to confirm he was correct. "Perhaps your name would be a nice thing to know in your company."

"I'm Charcoal Summers, a.k.a. Char and I'll stay, for now." she stopped and stared at the stallion. "So, your majesty what else do you want to know about me?"

"Perhaps how you came to be here. And more specifically here." He stomped his hoof on the turf to signify he meant that specific location. "I'm Serengeti by the way, Seren for short."

Nodding the stallion flicked his tail to swat away a fly, then stamped a hoof. "Simple enough. His dropped his head and took amouthfull of grass, then looked up again. After he had finished chewing Seren asked another question, "From where did you come?"

"Somewhere, with big plains and deep gorges, wide rivers and deep lakes. I came from a place called the Cimmaron."

He stepped back, surprised at her words. "Really? i have heard tales of the Cimarron herd. But that was what i thought it was. A Tale."

"Well I'm living proof that it's not. It's real! Although you might have heard a tale about a leader that never existed." She still was keeping eye contact with the stallion.

"Well, that I have heard of, but I am glad to know it is true." He gazed wistfully to the side, where a mountain range stood off in the horizon. Nodding his head towards them he said, "That is where i came from, those mountains."

His audits pinned back at the question, "A personal matter." He said rather gruffly, looking away.

Averting his gaze towards the source of a nicker, Sarengeti answered with his own. Smiling politely at the newcomer his kind eyes met hers.

Char lowered her head and started to graze, she really wasn't paying anymore attention to the conversation anymore. She raised her head to say something. "Saren, your majesty. What are the rules that you have decided on this land?" Her coal black orbs flashed around. "I have no intention of breaking them."

"Sarengeti then. What are the rules that you have set upon these grounds of yours?" said Charcoal Summers. "As long as I'm treated as kind as any other mare, it's fine with me if you stay Star."
